One tracks raw tilt, the other tracks tilt and spin. Do you really need all 6 axes of movement?
The MPU6050 is a powerhouse 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). It contains a 3-axis accelerometer AND a 3-axis gyroscope on a single chip.
The ADXL345 is a classic 3-axis accelerometer. It is great for measuring static tilt, gravity, and sudden impacts.

Choose the **MPU6050** for drones, self-balancing robots, VR headsets, or anything that rotates or moves quickly through space. Choose the **ADXL345** if you only need to measure static tilt (like a digital level), detect an impact/drop, or build a low-power pedometer.
Generally, you should just buy the MPU6050. The addition of the gyroscope makes it infinitely more useful for modern robotics at barely any extra cost.
