5V Active Electromagnetic Buzzer 10mm

The 5V Active Electromagnetic Buzzer 10mm is a compact PCB-mount audio indicator for alarms, notifications and status feedback in electronics projects. Designed for 3V to 5V DC operation, this active magnetic buzzer produces a continuous tone around 2500Hz when powered, so it does not require an external oscillator. Ideal for Arduino, microcontroller, embedded, timer, security and DIY electronics applications, it is easy to solder on PCBs and suitable for space-constrained designs.

About 5V Active Electromagnetic Buzzer 10mm

This 5V Active Electromagnetic Buzzer 10mm is a small through-hole audio signalling component used to add a clear audible alert to electronic circuits. Unlike a passive buzzer or bare magnetic transducer, an active buzzer contains the internal drive circuit needed to generate sound. Simply apply DC power within its rated range and the buzzer outputs a continuous tone at approximately 2500Hz, making it quick to integrate in beginner as well as production PCB designs. The buzzer is commonly operated at 5V DC and supports a 3V to 5V DC operating range, making it compatible with many logic and embedded systems. It is suitable for direct low-current switching in simple circuits, but for microcontroller boards such as Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, 8051, AVR and STM32, it is good design practice to drive it through a transistor or MOSFET if the GPIO current rating is limited. A GPIO pin can then switch the buzzer ON or OFF for beeps, warning tones, button feedback or alarm patterns. With its approximately 10mm round body and low-profile PCB package, this electromagnetic active buzzer fits neatly into compact enclosures, control panels, sensor nodes, digital instruments and hobby kits. It is widely used in timers, continuity testers, alarm circuits, door sensors, low-battery indicators, robot feedback systems, appliance panels and educational breadboard-to-PCB projects. The part is supplied as a single PCB-mount buzzer with two pins. Observe polarity markings where provided on the body or PCB footprint, typically connecting the positive pin to +5V and the other pin to ground through the switching device. For reliable operation, use a regulated DC supply, avoid reverse polarity, and confirm the pin spacing with your PCB footprint before soldering.
