About BME280 Temperature Humidity Pressure Sensor Module

The BME280 Temperature Humidity Pressure Sensor Module is a high-performance 3-in-1 environmental sensing breakout built around the Bosch Sensortec BME280 digital sensor. It combines temperature, relative humidity and barometric pressure measurement in one tiny LGA sensor package, making it a popular choice for compact IoT devices, Arduino projects and Raspberry Pi based weather monitoring systems. The sensor works by digitally sampling three environmental parameters and sending compensated readings over I2C or SPI. The BME280 supports I2C operation up to 3.4 MHz and SPI communication up to 10 MHz, so it can be used with both simple microcontroller projects and faster embedded systems. Many breakout modules expose pins such as VIN/VCC, GND, SCL, SDA, CSB and SDO, allowing I2C address selection and SPI wiring where supported. The BME280 sensor itself operates from 1.8 V to 3.6 V; some breakout boards include onboard regulation or level shifting for 5 V-compatible microcontroller use, so users should confirm the exact board marking before connecting to 5 V logic. This module is especially useful where space, power and accuracy matter. It can measure humidity across 0–100% RH, pressure across 300–1100 hPa and temperature across the standard BME280 operating range, enabling calculations such as dew point, sea-level pressure and approximate altitude. With very low current consumption in periodic measurement modes, it is suitable for battery-powered wireless sensor nodes. Typical applications include DIY weather stations, indoor air comfort monitors, greenhouse automation, smart agriculture, pressure trend logging, altitude estimation for drones or GPS projects, and classroom environmental science experiments. Package includes one BME280 sensor breakout module. Header pins may be supplied loose or pre-soldered depending on stock batch.
