About ESP32 DevKit V1 Development Board
The ESP32 DevKit V1 Development Board is one of the most popular low-cost IoT development boards for building Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled electronics projects. Based on the Espressif ESP32-WROOM-32 module, it combines a high-performance dual-core Xtensa LX6 microcontroller, integrated wireless connectivity and a breadboard-friendly pin layout, making it a practical upgrade from ESP8266 and basic Arduino boards for connected applications.
The board works by exposing the ESP32 module’s GPIO and peripheral pins through standard header pins while an onboard USB-to-serial interface allows easy programming and debugging from a computer. Power can be supplied through the micro-USB connector or through the VIN pin, while the onboard regulator provides the 3.3 V required by the ESP32. It is widely supported by Arduino IDE, Espressif ESP-IDF, PlatformIO and MicroPython, so beginners and professionals can use the same board for learning, rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development.
Key capabilities include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2 BR/EDR and BLE, multiple ADC inputs, capacitive touch inputs, PWM, SPI, I2C, I2S and UART interfaces. Typical projects include smart switches, Wi-Fi data loggers, Bluetooth control panels, MQTT sensor nodes, home automation, web-server based control, weather stations, robotics and industrial monitoring prototypes.
Package includes 1 x ESP32 DevKit V1 Development Board with pre-soldered male header pins. Pin notes: the board uses 3.3 V logic; GPIO pins are not 5 V tolerant. Some pins have boot-strapping or flash-related functions, so check the ESP32 pinout before connecting external circuits. USB cable, sensors and accessories are not included unless separately mentioned.
