L298N Dual H-Bridge Motor Driver Module

The L298N Dual H-Bridge Motor Driver Module is one of the most widely used motor driver boards for hobby robotics, embedded projects and educational automation. It uses the STMicroelectronics L298N dual full-bridge driver IC to switch inductive loads such as brushed DC motors, bipolar stepper motors, relays and small solenoids. With two H-bridge channels on one compact board, you can run two DC geared motors with independent forward/reverse control, or connect the four outputs to a 2-phase bipolar stepper motor. Control is simple: IN1/IN2 set the direction of Motor A, IN3/IN4 set the direction of Motor B, while ENA and ENB can be connected to PWM-capable microcontroller pins for speed control. The module accepts standard TTL logic, making it easy to use with Arduino Uno/Nano/Mega, Raspberry Pi with suitable wiring, ESP32, STM32 and other development boards. Screw terminals are provided for motor power and motor outputs, and the common module layout includes an onboard 5V regulator jumper for convenient logic supply in typical voltage ranges. This L298N motor driver module is suitable for differential-drive robot cars, obstacle-avoidance bots, line follower robots, conveyor prototypes, mini CNC/XY experiments, door locks and other mechatronics projects. Because the L298N is a bipolar transistor driver, it has a noticeable voltage drop and can run warm at high current; use an adequate motor supply, keep within current limits, and provide ventilation for best reliability. Pin notes: OUT1/OUT2 are Motor A, OUT3/OUT4 are Motor B; ENA/ENB enable or PWM-speed each channel; IN1-IN4 are logic direction inputs; +12V/VMS is motor supply, GND must be common with the controller, and 5V is logic/regulator output or input depending on jumper configuration.
