SG90 9g Micro Servo Motor
The SG90 9g Micro Servo Motor is a compact, lightweight hobby servo for precise angular movement in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, robotics, RC aircraft, cars, boats and DIY automation projects. With standard 3-wire PWM control, plastic gears, approximately 180° rotation and strong holding torque for its size, this mini servo is ideal for beginners, students, makers and professionals who need reliable position control in a small space without using a separate motor driver.

About SG90 9g Micro Servo Motor
The SG90 9g Micro Servo Motor is one of the most popular small actuators for electronics projects in India, especially where controlled movement is required in a compact and low-cost form factor. Unlike a normal DC motor that spins continuously, the SG90 is a positional servo: it contains a geared DC motor, feedback potentiometer and internal control circuit, allowing it to move to a commanded angle and hold that position.
This micro servo is controlled using a standard hobby-servo PWM signal, commonly generated by Arduino servo libraries, Raspberry Pi GPIO PWM, ESP32/ESP8266 boards, RC receivers and servo testers. Typically, a pulse repeated around 50 Hz is used to set the shaft position, with short-to-long pulses corresponding to one end, centre and the opposite end of travel. It does not require an H-bridge motor driver; just provide a suitable 5 V power supply and a PWM signal wire.
The SG90 is widely used in robotic arms, pan-tilt camera mounts, RC planes, small cars, boats, walking robots, sensor scanners, automated locks, flaps, levers and educational STEM projects. Its 9 g weight, plastic gear train and approximately 180-degree movement make it suitable for light-duty mechanical loads where space and budget are important. For higher shock loads or heavier linkages, consider a metal gear micro servo such as MG90S.
Connection is simple using the standard 3-wire lead: Brown/GND, Red/VCC and Orange/Signal. For stable operation, power the servo from an external regulated 5 V supply when using multiple servos or when the load is high; connect the supply ground to the microcontroller ground. Package typically includes one SG90 micro servo with pre-fitted cable and a set of plastic servo horns/arms with mounting screws, depending on batch.
