OV2640 Camera Module (2MP, DVP Interface)

The OV2640 Camera Module is a compact 2 megapixel CMOS imaging module based on the OmniVision OV2640 sensor, widely used in ESP32-CAM boards, IoT camera nodes, robotics and low-cost embedded vision systems. It supports UXGA resolution up to 1600 x 1200 and includes an on-chip image signal processor for functions such as auto exposure, auto white balance, auto gain control, gamma correction, contrast and saturation adjustment. The module outputs image data over a DVP parallel interface and is controlled through the SCCB bus, which is compatible with I2C-style camera configuration used by many microcontrollers. The OV2640 can output compressed JPEG as well as YUV and RGB formats, reducing processing and storage load in small embedded designs. Its low-voltage operation and small camera-module format make it suitable for wireless monitoring, image logging, DIY surveillance, machine vision prototypes and educational electronics projects.
