The LED and Resistor Assortment is one of the most useful basic electronics kits for anyone working with breadboards, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32/ESP8266 boards, STEM projects or small repair jobs. Instead of searching for a suitable indicator LED and a safe series resistor every time, this assortment keeps commonly used through-hole LEDs and current-limiting resistors together in one convenient kit. LEDs are polarity-sensitive semiconductor light sources: current flows from the anode to the cathode and the LED emits light when its forward voltage is reached. Because an LED cannot be connected directly to most supply rails, a resistor is used in series to limit current and protect both the LED and the microcontroller pin or power source. This kit is therefore especially useful for learning Ohm’s law, testing digital outputs and building visual indicators in embedded electronics. Typical contents include mixed colour through-hole LEDs such as red, green, yellow, blue and white, along with carbon-film resistors suitable for low-power LED circuits.
