This Small DC Motor 3V-6V is a general-purpose permanent-magnet brushed DC motor widely used in school science projects, robotics kits, toys and compact DIY mechanisms. Designed for low-voltage operation, it can run directly from two to four AA cells, a 3.7V Li-ion battery, or a regulated 5V/6V DC supply. The motor converts electrical energy into rotational motion using a brushed commutator and internal permanent magnets, making it simple, inexpensive and easy to control.
For basic use, connect the two motor terminals to a DC supply; reversing the positive and negative connections reverses the shaft direction. For Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 or other microcontroller projects, use a suitable motor driver such as L293D, L298N, TB6612FNG, a MOSFET driver, or relay module because a DC motor draws more current than a GPIO pin can safely provide. Speed can be varied using PWM from a motor driver, and torque/load performance will depend on supply voltage, battery strength and the mechanical load.
