10k Ohm Potentiometer Rotary

The 10k Ohm Rotary Potentiometer is a compact 3-terminal variable resistor used for smooth analog control in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, robotics, audio, lighting and DIY electronics projects. By rotating the shaft, it changes resistance or provides an adjustable voltage output, making it ideal for volume control, sensor calibration, motor speed reference, contrast adjustment and user-input knobs. This panel-mount 10K potentiometer is a must-have component for students, makers, repair technicians and embedded developers.

Details

A 10k Ohm Rotary Potentiometer is one of the most commonly used analog control components in electronics prototyping and product repair. It contains a resistive track with a movable wiper connected to the centre terminal. When the shaft is rotated, the wiper position changes, allowing the part to work either as a variable resistor or as a voltage divider. With the two outer pins connected to a supply and ground, the middle pin provides a variable analog voltage that can be read by microcontroller ADC pins such as Arduino A0, ESP32 ADC inputs or other analog measurement circuits. This 10K rotary potentiometer is suitable for projects that need a simple manual control knob: LED brightness control, audio level control in low-power signal circuits, PWM speed reference for DC motor drivers, LCD contrast adjustment, servo position setting, threshold tuning and calibration circuits. The 10k resistance value is a practical choice because it draws low current while still giving a stable signal for most microcontroller input circuits. The component is typically a single-turn carbon-film, panel-mount potentiometer with three solder terminals and a rotating metal/plastic shaft for attaching a compatible knob. It can be mounted on a front panel using a nut and washer where applicable, or soldered into a circuit with wired connections. Pin usage is simple: the two side terminals are the fixed ends of the resistive element, and the centre terminal is the wiper. Swapping the two outer terminals reverses the direction of increase/decrease. Ideal for electronics labs, STEM kits, repair benches and maker inventories, this 10K Ohm potentiometer offers a low-cost way to add tactile analog adjustment to almost any circuit. Package includes one 10k rotary potentiometer; knob, wires and mounting accessories may vary by batch or listing.
