The Arduino Mega 2560 R3 Compatible Board is designed for projects that need a large number of input/output pins, multiple serial devices and more program space than smaller Arduino boards. Based on the Microchip ATmega2560 8-bit AVR microcontroller, this Mega 2560 compatible board follows the Arduino Mega Rev3 form factor and works with the Arduino IDE, Arduino libraries and a wide range of Mega-compatible shields. It provides 54 digital input/output pins, including 15 PWM-capable outputs, plus 16 analog input channels for sensors, potentiometers and measurement circuits. Four hardware UARTs make it especially useful when connecting GSM modules, GPS receivers, Bluetooth modules, RFID readers, serial displays or other TTL serial peripherals at the same time. The onboard 16 MHz crystal oscillator provides stable timing, while the USB connection allows easy programming and serial monitoring from a computer. For power, the board can be powered through USB during development or through the DC barrel jack/Vin pin for standalone projects. The onboard regulator provides regulated logic power for the board, and the ICSP header supports direct programming of the microcontroller where required.
