Details

This 5mm Assorted LED Pack is an essential component set for anyone building, testing or learning electronic circuits. The pack contains standard 5mm round through-hole light emitting diodes in commonly used colours including red, yellow, blue, green and white. Each LED is a simple semiconductor lamp that emits light when forward biased, making it ideal for visual indication, status displays, decorative lighting and electronics training projects. 5mm LEDs are among the most widely used optoelectronic components because they are inexpensive, easy to solder and compatible with breadboards, perfboards and PCB prototypes. They are commonly driven from 3.3V, 5V, 9V or 12V circuits using a suitable current-limiting resistor. Typical operating current is around 20mA, while the forward voltage depends on colour: red, yellow and many green LEDs are usually lower-voltage devices, while blue and white LEDs generally need a higher forward voltage. This makes the assortment useful for comparing LED colours, brightness levels and resistor calculations in practical electronics lessons. The radial two-pin package is simple to identify: the longer lead is generally the anode positive terminal, while the shorter lead and flat side of the LED body indicate the cathode negative terminal. These LEDs can be used directly on breadboards for Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP32 and basic transistor-switching projects, or soldered into panels, toys, models and DIY kits. Typical applications include power indicators, signal lamps, logic output testing, mini traffic-light projects, sensor output indicators, model railway lighting and decorative electronics. The pack is especially useful for school labs, college workshops, STEM kits and makerspaces because it provides multiple LED colours without buying separate reels or bulk lots. In the box: assorted 5mm through-hole LEDs, typically supplied as a mixed colour pack of red, yellow, blue, green and white LEDs.
