Project Details

This project demonstrates how to use Bluetooth Classic communication to control hardware devices wirelessly. The ESP32 pairs with a smartphone using Bluetooth Classic, and commands sent from a mobile application are received by the ESP32 to turn an LED ON or OFF. Bluetooth Classic is ideal for offline IoT control as it requires no internet connection, offers easy pairing with smartphones, and provides stable communication. This project is commonly used in home automation, industrial machine control, robotics, and smart gadgets.

How It Works

The ESP32 uses Bluetooth Classic to establish a serial connection with a smartphone. The BluetoothSerial library initializes a Bluetooth device named 'ESP32_BT_LED'. When the mobile app sends a character ('1' for ON, '0' for OFF), the ESP32 reads it via SerialBT.available() and controls GPIO 2 accordingly. The LED state changes based on the received command, and the ESP32 sends confirmation messages back to the mobile app.
