Project Details
How It Works
The ESP32 runs firmware (ESPHome or custom MQTT code) that reads data from connected sensors or controls actuators. It publishes this data to an MQTT broker or directly to Home Assistant via ESPHome. Home Assistant receives the data and displays it on dashboards. Users can control devices through the Home Assistant UI, and automation rules can trigger actions based on sensor readings or schedules. The system operates locally on your home network.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of electronics and microcontrollers, familiarity with Wi-Fi networks, understanding of basic programming concepts, and experience with command-line interfaces or configuration files. Access to a Raspberry Pi or PC for running Home Assistant is required.
