Project Details
How It Works
The ESP32 connects to a Wi-Fi network and establishes a connection to an MQTT broker. It subscribes to specific topics (e.g., 'home/relay1') to listen for commands. When a command like 'ON' or 'OFF' is published to the topic from a dashboard or app, the ESP32 receives it via the broker and toggles the relay accordingly. The relay then switches the AC appliance on or off. This publish–subscribe architecture allows multiple devices to communicate efficiently without direct connections.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Arduino programming, understanding of Wi-Fi networking, familiarity with IoT concepts, and experience with electrical safety when working with AC mains.
