The ESP32 Smart Home Automation System allows users to control household appliances such as lights, fans, and sockets remotely using a web browser or mobile phone. The ESP32 connects to a Wi-Fi network and hosts a web-based control dashboard. Users can turn appliances ON/OFF in real time without any third-party cloud service. This project demonstrates smart appliance control, Wi-Fi based automation, web dashboard hosting, and real-world IoT architecture. It closely resembles commercial smart home systems and is widely used in final-year projects and startup prototypes.

How It Works

The ESP32 connects to a Wi-Fi network and hosts a web server on port 80. When a user accesses the ESP32's IP address from a web browser, they see a simple HTML dashboard with buttons for controlling appliances. Clicking a button sends an HTTP request to the ESP32 (e.g., /R1ON or /R1OFF). The ESP32 processes these requests and toggles the corresponding relay pins (GPIO 2, 4, 5, 18) to control the connected AC appliances. The relay modules are active LOW, meaning a LOW signal turns them ON and a HIGH signal turns them OFF.

Prerequisites
