The ESP32 Smart Plant Watering System automatically waters plants based on real-time soil moisture levels. It can also send data to the cloud and allow manual control via mobile app or web dashboard. Ideal for home gardens, greenhouses, smart farms, and indoor plants. The system uses a capacitive soil moisture sensor to measure water content, and an ESP32 reads the analog value. If the soil is dry, a relay activates a water pump until the moisture threshold is reached, then the pump turns off automatically.

How It Works

The system works by continuously monitoring soil moisture levels using a capacitive sensor connected to the ESP32's analog input. When the moisture reading exceeds a set threshold (indicating dry soil), the ESP32 sends a LOW signal to the relay module, which activates the water pump. Water flows until the moisture level drops below the threshold, at which point the ESP32 sends a HIGH signal to turn the pump off. This cycle repeats automatically, ensuring plants receive water only when needed.
