Project Details
How It Works
The system works by continuously monitoring soil moisture levels using a capacitive sensor connected to the ESP32's analog input. When the moisture reading exceeds a set threshold (indicating dry soil), the ESP32 sends a LOW signal to the relay module, which activates the water pump. Water flows until the moisture level drops below the threshold, at which point the ESP32 sends a HIGH signal to turn the pump off. This cycle repeats automatically, ensuring plants receive water only when needed.

Tools Required
Safety Precautions
Electrical
- ⚠Never power the water pump directly from ESP32 pins
- ⚠Use relay isolation for pump control
- ⚠Ensure proper power supply for pump (separate from ESP32)
Handling
- ⚠Keep electronics dry and protected from water splashes
- ⚠Use waterproof enclosures for outdoor installations
Operating
- ⚠Check tubing connections to prevent leaks
- ⚠Ensure water container is stable and won't tip over
