Project Details
How It Works
The PIR motion sensor continuously monitors infrared radiation in its field of view. When a warm object (like a person) moves across the sensor's detection zone, it causes a change in infrared radiation that the sensor detects. The sensor outputs a HIGH digital signal to Arduino's D2 pin. Arduino reads this signal in its loop() function. When motion is detected (HIGH signal), Arduino activates the buzzer on D8 and LED on D9, creating both audible and visual alerts. The system also reports status via Serial Monitor. After motion stops, the sensor returns to LOW state, and Arduino deactivates the alarm outputs.
Prerequisites
Basic understanding of Arduino programming and circuit connections. Familiarity with digital input/output concepts. Ability to install Arduino IDE and upload code to Arduino board. No advanced electronics knowledge required.
