Project Details

Temperature and Humidity Monitoring using DHT11/DHT22 is a beginner-friendly Arduino project that measures environmental conditions accurately. The DHT sensor provides digital temperature and humidity data to the Arduino. These readings can be displayed on the Serial Monitor or later extended to LCD, IoT dashboards, or data logging systems. This project is widely used in weather stations, smart homes, server room monitoring, and agriculture & greenhouses. It forms the base for IoT and automation projects.

How It Works

The DHT sensor (DHT11 or DHT22) measures ambient temperature and humidity. It sends this data digitally to the Arduino via a single data pin. The Arduino reads the sensor data using the DHT library, processes it, and displays the values on the Serial Monitor. The sensor requires a 5V power supply and ground connection, with a 10kΩ pull-up resistor needed for bare sensors to ensure stable data transmission.

Prerequisites

Basic understanding of Arduino programming and familiarity with the Arduino IDE. Knowledge of how to connect components on a breadboard is helpful but not required.
