How It Works
The project uses an Arduino microcontroller to control three LEDs (red, yellow, green) in a specific sequence that mimics real traffic lights. The Arduino code sets up three digital pins as outputs and uses a loop function to cycle through the light phases. Each phase turns on one LED while keeping the others off, with specific delay times: red light stays on for 5 seconds, green light for 5 seconds, and yellow light for 2 seconds. The 220Ω resistors limit current to protect the LEDs from damage. The circuit is built on a breadboard for easy assembly and modification.
Prerequisites
Basic understanding of electronics concepts (voltage, current, resistance), familiarity with Arduino hardware and software installation, and ability to write and upload simple code. No prior programming experience is required as the code is provided.
