5V Active Buzzer Module
The 5V Active Buzzer Module is a ready-to-use alarm sound module for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, ESP8266, 8051 and other microcontroller projects. Unlike a passive buzzer, it has an internal oscillator, so it produces a clear fixed beep when triggered with a simple digital signal. Operating from 3.3V to 5V DC with low-level triggering, it is ideal for alarms, timers, warning indicators, robotics and DIY electronics kits.

About 5V Active Buzzer Module
This 5V Active Buzzer Module is a compact sound output board designed for quick and reliable beep alerts in electronics projects. It uses an active buzzer element, which means the tone-generating oscillator is built into the buzzer itself. You do not need to generate a PWM frequency in code; simply power the module and apply the trigger signal to switch the buzzer on or off. This makes it especially useful for beginners, school projects, embedded prototypes and production-style indicator circuits where a standard alarm beep is required.
The module typically works across a 3.3V to 5V DC supply range, making it compatible with Arduino UNO/Nano/Mega, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi GPIO circuits with suitable wiring, and many other microcontroller boards. Common low-level trigger versions turn ON when the signal pin is pulled LOW and turn OFF when the signal pin is HIGH. Many boards include an onboard transistor driver stage, reducing the load on the microcontroller I/O pin compared with driving a buzzer directly.
With a typical current requirement of around 20mA to 30mA at 5V and a sound output around 85dB at close range, this active buzzer module is suitable for audible alerts in alarm systems, countdown timers, obstacle detectors, keypad feedback, sensor threshold warnings, continuity testers and small robotics projects. The resonance frequency is commonly around 2.3kHz to 2.5kHz, producing a sharp, attention-grabbing tone.
The board normally provides three pins: VCC for 3.3V/5V power, GND, and a signal input pin marked S, I/O or IN depending on the batch. Connect VCC to 5V, GND to ground and the signal pin to a digital output. Package includes one 5V active buzzer module. Board dimensions and silkscreen markings may vary slightly by production batch.
