Active Buzzer Module (5V)

The 5V Active Buzzer Module is a compact ready-to-use sound alarm board for Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP32, IoT and embedded electronics projects. With a built-in oscillator/driver, it produces a clear high-pitched beep as soon as 5V power or a digital HIGH signal is applied—no audio waveform generation required. Ideal for alarms, notifications, timers, security alerts, gas-leak indicators, robotics and industrial control panels.

About Active Buzzer Module (5V)

This 5V Active Buzzer Module is an easy audio alert solution for electronics makers, students, repair technicians and embedded-system designers who need a simple beep output from a microcontroller or DC circuit. Unlike a passive buzzer, an active buzzer includes an internal oscillator/drive circuit, so it generates sound automatically when powered. You simply connect VCC and GND, then switch the signal pin from an Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP32/ESP8266, 8051, AVR, PIC or other controller to turn the buzzer ON or OFF. The module is based on a compact 5V active electromagnetic/piezo buzzer commonly used in alarm and notification circuits. Typical active buzzer parts in this class produce a sharp tone around 2.0–2.4kHz, with commonly listed versions around 2048Hz and minimum sound output around 80dB at 10cm, making the sound easy to notice in project enclosures, bench prototypes and small control systems. The small PCB and standard header spacing make it convenient for breadboards, jumper wires and PCB integration. Use this active buzzer module where you need an on/off sound indicator rather than music playback or variable tones. It is well suited for gas leakage alarms, door-open alerts, keypad feedback, countdown timers, continuity testers, battery warnings, obstacle detection robots, industrial machine status indicators and school/college Arduino projects. Because the tone generator is built in, coding is simple: set the output pin HIGH for beep and LOW for silence, or pulse it in software for patterns such as short beeps, error alerts and confirmation tones. Package includes 1 x 5V Active Buzzer Module. Pin labels may vary by batch, but most modules provide VCC/+, GND/- and SIG/I/O pins. Observe polarity, use 5V supply for rated performance, and check your controller pin current capability when driving directly.
