About Particle Boron
The Particle Boron is a versatile IoT development board designed for building cellular-connected products. It is powered by the Nordic nRF52840 System on Chip (SoC), which features an ARM Cortex-M4F 32-bit processor running at 64MHz, making it ideal for complex edge computing tasks. The board supports LTE Cat M1 and 2G/3G cellular networks, ensuring reliable connectivity even in remote locations where Wi-Fi is unavailable. Additionally, it includes Bluetooth 5 (BLE) for short-range communication and configuration. With 1MB of flash memory, 256KB of RAM, and an additional 4MB of SPI flash, it offers ample storage for firmware and data logging. The Boron provides 20 mixed-signal GPIOs, supporting interfaces like UART, I2C, and SPI, allowing seamless integration with sensors, actuators, and other peripherals. It is fully compatible with the Particle IoT Platform-as-a-Service, offering over-the-air (OTA) updates and device management. Whether you are prototyping a smart meter, a remote monitoring system, or a connected vehicle tracker, the Boron provides the performance and connectivity required for professional-grade IoT deployments.
