Bluetooth Controlled Robot Car: Drive It With Your Phone!

This is one of the most satisfying beginner robotics projects. Build a car, pair your phone, and drive it around the room!

Components

  • Arduino Uno / Nano
  • L298N Motor Driver
  • 2x or 4x BO Motors + Wheels
  • HC-05 Bluetooth Module
  • Chassis
  • 9V or 12V Battery Pack

The Android App

You can use free apps like "Arduino Bluetooth Controller" or "Bluetooth RC Controller" from the Play Store. They send simple characters (e.g., 'F' for Forward, 'B' for Back) over Bluetooth.

Arduino Code Logic

```cpp if (Serial.available()) { char command = Serial.read(); if (command == 'F') { // Forward digitalWrite(IN1, HIGH); digitalWrite(IN2, LOW); digitalWrite(IN3, HIGH); digitalWrite(IN4, LOW); } else if (command == 'B') { // Backward // ... reverse logic } // ... Left, Right, Stop } ```
Upgrade Ideas
  • Add a horn (buzzer).
  • Mount an ultrasonic sensor to make it obstacle-avoiding AND Bluetooth-controlled.
  • Use ESP32 for WiFi control over longer distances.
