Fire/Flame Detection Alarm System: Protect Your Home

Fire safety is critical. This project uses sensors to detect fire and smoke early, giving you precious time to respond.

Key Components

  • Flame Sensor (KY-026): Detects infrared light from a flame.
  • MQ-2 Gas/Smoke Sensor: Detects combustible gases and smoke.
  • Buzzer: Loud audio alarm.
  • Red LED: Visual warning.
  • Arduino Uno: Controller.

How It Works

  1. The Flame Sensor continuously watches for IR wavelengths characteristic of fire (760nm - 1100nm).
  2. The MQ-2 Sensor monitors the air for smoke particles and combustible gases like LPG, methane, and propane.
  3. If either sensor crosses its threshold, the Arduino triggers the Buzzer and LED.
  4. (Optional) An ESP32 version can send a push notification or SMS to your phone!

Calibration is Key

MQ sensors need a "burn-in" period of 24-48 hours. Calibrate them in clean air to set the baseline, then adjust the threshold for sensitivity.
