The IoT Smart Energy Meter Kit is a complete, build-it-yourself Power & Energy project bundle for engineering students and DIY electronics hobbyists in India who want to assemble a real Wi-Fi-enabled AC energy monitor. At its heart is the Peacefair PZEM-004T V3.0 AC multifunction meter module, which reads live single-phase AC parameters — voltage, current, active power, frequency, power factor and cumulative energy (kWh) — through a clamp-style CT coil rated up to 100A. The ESP32 DevKit V1 reads that data over Modbus-RTU (TTL), processes it, and shows instant readings on the included 0.96-inch OLED display while also pushing values to Blynk, Telegram or a local web dashboard over Wi-Fi. A 4-channel optocoupler-isolated 5V relay module adds appliance-level load switching (10A/250VAC per channel) and protection logic. Crucially, the kit separates the two sides of the build: the low-voltage side (ESP32, OLED, relay signal, breadboard and jumper wires) and the mains side, which uses the included AC-rated screw terminal blocks, glass fuse holder with 2A fuse, and insulated ABS enclosure to keep 230V connections covered and safe. Everything you need to get started is in the box: microcontroller, energy meter module with CT coil, OLED display, relay module, breadboard, jumper wires, 5V/2A adapter with India 3-pin plug, Micro USB cable, fuse protection, AC terminal blocks and an insulated enclosure. This kit is ideal for final-year engineering projects, mini projects, IoT home-automation prototypes, and anyone learning real-time power monitoring. Please note: the PZEM-004T can monitor circuits up to 100A (about 22,000W at 220V), but the bundled relay and wiring are rated for appliance-level control — for whole-home load switching, use appropriately rated contactors/MCBs, and always switch off the mains before making AC connections.
